Okay keeping score and all in all I think I did pretty good today:
Breakfast: cafe latte with baby arugula and blueberries….I think this is my favorite combo now. Also had a cup of coffee with almond milk and two mocha espressos.
Work: Cafe Vanilla Latte and a coffee with half and half. Salad with chicken and homemade dressing. Strawberries and almonds.
Snack: hummus and pita chips, carrots and string peas
LOTS OF WATER!! NO WORKOUT TODAY..
Dinner was ravioli with pesto sauce.. and lots of water.
Mom is flying out tomorrow for the long weekend…so I will not be eating well at all but hope to get my workouts in, at least the yoga. I will still post. I think these silly confessions are really helping me…..
Have you tried tracking yet? What are you tracking, food, money, workouts? Would love to hear how you are doing.
Salad with homemade dressing, chicken tomatoes cucumbers
Snack. Yoplait mix-ins caramel yogurt with pretzels and chocolate chunks
Shake today chocolate, spinach and dark cherries
Mocha at home
1 cup coffee with almond milk
I emailed my list of things that I tracked when I was at work. Then copied and pasted it here… NOW for the dinner fiasco. The hubby and I went to the local Farmers Night Market at Kendall Yards. It was food truck night…. you see where I am going here, right?
Two slices of wood fired pizza and a Coke (blurg) one slice garlic, tomato, sausage, the other was red bell peppers, artichoke hearts and garlic…. so lots os veggies makes it okay, yeah….. THEN we stopped at the Two Sisters Crepe truck and I had a Nutty Dust crepe. So so good!! Crepe with Nutella and a dusting of cinnamon. Now I am going to drown that out with a lot more water….
The point of tracking and writing down my food is that it is supposed to help me get this eating thing under control. The theory is that if you have to take a notebook out for every little thing you eat you will want to stop eating so much just so you don’t have to write it down. I decided that I would confess my food in my blog and that will some how deter me from making such bad choices… so far it hasn’t. Yet I am still tracking and sharing… so here we go:
Breakfast: chocolate superfoods shake with dark cherries and spinach. Coffee with almond milk. Then a cup of espresso with chocolate milk.
Work: coworker was running late. To make it up to me he bought me a froo froo coffee. Coconut Cluster..it was good. Coconut, praline and vanilla in it. So good. I am quit positive it has a lot of calories in it though.
Lunch: Coca-cola, salad with homemade dressing, chicken, tomatoes, cucumbers and goat cheese.
Snack: I tried the coconut chocolate almond yogurt mix-ins by Yoplait..it was so good!! Also ate my raw almonds.
Then I drove home….and had tacos.. 2 old taco shells that I stuffed with shredded pork and cheese and a few black olives (sorry to those who don’t like them) and snap peas… I would have been alright if I would have just stopped there..but oh no! not me.. so I crumbled up the rest of the shells (five of them) and covered them with cheese and salsa and ate them like nachos. Then I decided I needed something sweet so I drank a glass of chocolate milk.
Maybe the trick is to log the food WHEN you eat it instead of at the end of the day. If I physically had to take a tracker book out each time I ate I wouldn’t have time to so I wouldn’t eat!?!
Have you tried tracking your food? Or any bad habit that you want to quit? Did it work for you? I will keep on going.. something has got to change.. and it will be me and my appetite.
My socks were hurting me today. I know, I know how can socks possibly hurt? Well if you look at my ankle you will see that apparently the socks were just too tight….more than likely it is because my ankles are just not happy…. good times. Eat Right. Feel Amazing. So much truth to that statement. When I eat right, my body feels good. When I don’t my socks hurt.
Breakfast: superfoods shake with spinach and blueberries. Along with my coffee/half and half. Then a mocha I made with chocolate milk. Turned out pretty good.
Got to work and had another cup of coffee with half and half. Then a vanilla cafe latte k-cup. A handful of raw almonds.
Lunch time: Salad with cucumbers and tomatoes, goat cheese, homemade asian dressing. The rest of the macaroni salad from the store, strawberries.
Snack: Carrot sticks
Then it all goes down hill from there…. I get home and I am hungry and tired and stressed about the upcoming visit. I made a cheese crisp in butter. Then I made another and THEN I wiped butter all over the cold tortilla….WHAT?!?!?! then I made a decaf mocha and then had a chocolate milk for dessert… and the ankles keep swelling on..
okay no fudge today BUT I want to yell ‘ohhhh fudge’ like from ‘The Christmas Story’
I had good intentions today. I even skipped the ball game so I wouldn’t over eat, again… also I wanted to start getting the house together for my moms visit and since I am being honest I really did not want to hang out with the hubby today, he kind of pissed me off but that is a different story… is that a long sentence or what?
Here is the rundown of my food today: Breakfast two eggs cooked in olive oil and the whole entire pack of bacon ALL 8 ounces….ALL of it!! Coffee, half and half, espresso (2) with milk.
Lunch was semi homemade pizza. I bought the dough, sauce and sausage from the deli then added fresh mozzarella cheese slices, black olives and mushrooms. Made myself a personal pan and ate it all. I mean after all it had mushrooms on it so it has to be good for you, right?
Dinner tonight was two hotdogs in buns with cheese and mustard and a hand full of raw almonds.
No shake today because I was too lazy to put it in the blender and hit start….. berg… here we go.. so much for my fresh start today of doing it right.
Tune in tomorrow to see if I can ever really get this together.
How did you do?
Sticking with baring my ugly food soul here is my list today of what I consumed:
Coffee with half and half, espresso with half and half. A chocolate flavored Eggo. Did you know they had such a thing? I didn’t, bought them for the hubby, felt like trying one today.
Lunch was my super dense nutrition shake: chocolate with blueberries and spinach. Then I went to my bosses retirement party and ate caesar salad, chicken wings, some meatballs, veggies and bacon potato skins. Also had an Angry Orchard. It was a nice little party and it gave me the chance to hang with my coworkers in a non clock watching time.
Then we went to the ball game…. I tell you they need to serve something healthy there, not that I would ever eat it but it would be nice to have the option to avoid. This was my dinner: walking taco (Doritos with ground beef, lettuce, corn, cheese and black beans) Angry Orchard, let’s be honest TWO Angry Orchards it was the happy hour so they were ‘on sale” then had a hot dog, an ice cream sandwich and an 20 ounce irish cream decaf mocha to stay warm.
ON THE POSITIVE SIDE… I did work out today AND I drink lots of water. Part of my tracking besides this confession blog I am tracking my weight and my water. Keep track is going to help me get on track and stay on track. At least that is what I believe… Time will tell.. and you get to judge. (140.6)
Trying to write down EVERYTHING I eat is the challenge. Confessing it to you is the punishment. I don’t know, sounds good in theory….so here is the Friday update of carbo-loading for sleeping in on Saturday..
Breakfast: dense nutrition shake cafe latte with mixed berry…I always seem to get this part right.. then 3 cups of coffee with half and half. Stopped at the coffee shop and got a coconut crinkle…coconut, vanilla and praline flavored. Half way through I added drip coffee and more half and half to it…oh boy I see a cycle her.
Next I had a small piece of steak and a Bavarian sausage stick that was amazing!! (my ankles are starting to swell now) Lunch rolled around and that is what is my picture above…the rest of my friends steak, he claimed to not be hungry anymore I was more than accepting. Also pictured is the rest of the squash/mushroom/onion pesto thing I made the other day. Grabbed another soda, I don’t know why I keep drinking these things. Three this week alone! Prior to that it had been months since I had a soda. Weird. Also I had some carrot sticks to top it off.
Got out of work pretty early tonight, 5:30 to be exact. Just in time to make it to happy hour at the ball park. So dinner consisted of Angry Orchard and fried cheese curds. Went for a decaf vanilla latte (it was chilly tonight) and two churros…one for me one for the hubby. For whatever reason the churros were awful this time. Hard and extra chewy. Like chewing on leather. Did this stop me from eating it? Nope!! What is wrong with me? No seriously, who eats like this? ESPECIALLY who eats like this and expects to lose weight and be healthy??
One day at a time. Apparently one moment at a time. I WILL WIN THIS!
How are you doing on your relationship with food?
Breakfast: chocolate superfoods shake with dark cherries and almond butter. Coffee with half and half. Espresso (2) with cream and half and half
Work coffee with half and half. Vanilla late (k-cup style)
Snack: Almonds, one hazelnut Hershey kiss (who knew they existed?)
Lunch: wanted McDonalds; lobby was under construction and drive through was too long . So I came back to work ate my squash/mushroom/onion with pesto sauce along with a coke and a hard boiled egg.
Katie brought back a cheeseburger for me so I ate it. Then went for Funyons in about an hour. Later had my carrot and celery sticks….
Got home about 8PM tonight and made myself a cheese crisp.. you know melted butter flour tortilla and cheese….I wasn’t patient enough to wait so I actually ate a smaller gordita flour tortilla while waiting for the cheese to melt… then added to it the very last of the Tito’s into the ORGANIC semi tart cherry juice… It is organic so that TOTALLY makes it okay…
I have been listening to a lot of PD lately..for those of you in the know you know that means Personal Development, or ‘self help’ books.
One of the statements in the Darren Daily ‘The Compound Effect’ book he talks about owning 100%. Taking personal responsibility for you and your actions and your behaviors. No finger-pointing, no excuses. If it is to be it is up to me attitude. This INCLUDES losing weight!! What?!?! Yeah, he really called me out on that one. He states that you may say you want to lose weight but the Doritos dust on your fingers tips proves that you really don’t want to. He also went on to share a story of a women who wanted to save money and become rich. She decided she needed accountability and started blogging EVERY day what she spent and how much on everything…EVERYTHING people!!!
So that brings me to my food blog. I WANT no NEED to lose weight. I am a freaking licensed fitness instructor dammit this should be EASY!! I am here to tell you it is not. It is hard. It requires motivation. It requires discipline. All the things I do not like.
So here is my word vomit/food blog/confession of a fitness lover health chaser…….
Breakfast: Shake with mixed berries coffee with half and half. Espresso with half and half and creamer. Hmmm… so far so good.
Work: coffee with half and half.
Lunch: salad from home with homemade vinaigrette dressing. Beef jerky, pita chips and hummus. Had a can of Coca-Cola too.
Snack time?? Found a bag of peanut M&M’s king size on my desk ate them ALL plus the chcoloate a co-worker stopped and gave me.
Dinner: Had ravioli with pesto sauce and a bowl of honey nut cherrios.
So yeah, I struggle with food. Now the whole internet knows it, or at least the few who may actually see this today.
