147.8 Did I hit some goals this year?…..

I was all excited because I decided to measure my things. Why would that make me excited? Well, when I was looking at my ‘vision board’ (I prefer to call it my goal board) I saw “slimmer thighs” with numbers next to the R and the L. I measured and I hit those goals!!!! WOOT!! Then I realized those were my STARTING numbers! wah!  I didn’t lose and inch or half-inch or even one-quarter inch. Does that discourage me? Well maybe a little. In fact at first it discouraged me a lot. Not only did I not hit my thing goals, I looked around and realized I didn’t hit ANY of my goals. That is very discouraging.

As I started looking closer it dawned on me; I may not have hit them but I am a LOT closer to them. I will just have to keep working at them.

On the plus side today I did PASS my 2B Mindset Mentor certification!!! Can I get a ‘way to go’? This goes tight along with the mindset that I am trying to change in my life. Finding the balance between healthy and happy. It is something I am working on myself about. If I can live it in MY life it will be easier to help others make it happen in theirs. That is what health coaching is all about. Helping each other.

With that said I am still filling out my tracker on a daily basis. Do I have this down yet? Absolutely not! Will I get it? Yes, I will! It is the holiday AND my son is coming home at midnight tonight. We are not doing a lot of presents but we will be doing a lot of good food. Creating those happy memories through the smells and tastes. I started early 😉

Breakfast: coffee with almond milk creamer; three cups. Cafe latte super foods shake with spinach, blueberries, almond butter, cinnamon and turmeric.

Cleaned the kitchen and baked the banana apple muffins the hubby loves. Had a small cutie orange and a bite of an apple.

Lunch was the remainder slices of pizza. They are large New York style thin pizza slices with sausage, mushrooms and black olives. One cup of salad greens with some cucumber, black olives, red onions and tomatoes. Diluted balsamic dressing, two tablespoonfuls. One Ghirardelli dark chocolate 60% cacao. Four mini non-parliels.

Dinner is two cheese crisps baked in the oven. I didn’t really measure the cheese. I guess you could call it two handfuls. Ate the remainder of the salad. Had a One Tree Cider Lemon Basil. It is 22 ounces. Four of the small homemade chocolate chip cookies made by my friend.

150 ounces of water. Yoga stretch today along with filming five videos for my Cancercize YouTube page.

I know it isn’t perfect but I am very happy with today.

145.8 Tuesday:What is wrong with me…

Give your best regardless of who is watching. That is what I read today in my personal development. I am being as honest as I can on this blog on what I eat and it is definitely not ‘my best’ Bleh. Here it is in it’s full glory.

Coffee w/creamer (almond milk) 2

Vanilla super foods shake with spinach, almond butter and blueberries.

Work coffee with almond milk, two.

1 and 1/2 ounces of chocolate covered almonds.

Lunch: kale salad with poppy seed dressing and four little tomatoes. 1 cup of pasta from last night. Giant pretzel with cheese dip. Five large Fritos with salsa #thanksscott

One cup of decaf coffee with almond milk.

Get home. I have the CHOICE to eat healthy OR stuff my face since I have to fast for blood work and my infusion tomorrow. I opt for stuffing my face.

This is how dinner played out: Smartfood white cheddar popcorn; one serving. Two cheese crisps. One Angry Orchard hard cider. Two Welches fruit snacks.

WHAT.IS.WRONG.WITH.ME?

My excuses have been the stress and anxiety of my upcoming appointment tomorrow. So the question lies; will I stop eating like this AFTER the weigh in and blood work and infusion tomorrow? I guess we will know soon enough.

I did get my yoga in today and 150 ounces of water.

146.6….Thirsty, tired and hot…..

That is what I woke up to today. I don’t know why I am getting so hot lately. I am generally cold by nature but now with the unnatural hot flashes I am warm. Usually I am more comfortable in the winter time because it all balances out. The hot flashes actually seem to lessen. Not this week. This week I can’t sleep because they are terrorizing me. I toss and turn. I get up and walk around. When my alarm goes off and I hit snooze I lay there in an awful sweat that actually forces me to get up instead of hitting snooze eight more times like I like. Bleh.

Hoping for some reprieve soon. I believe stress induces the hot flashes. When this week is over and the doctor appoints are past I am really hoping to have evidence of that.

Now I am tired and ready for bed and it is only 7:30pm. Good times. Any way this is how my food played out today:

Coffee and almond milk creamer, two cups. Super foods shake was chocolate/spinach/banana

Decided to treat myself to a coffee since the roads were fine and I had an extra 25 minutes before work started. Worked out nice. The special was called the North Pole and it was prailines and creme brûlée’s PLUS I had a free one coming to me. So win-win in my book.

Delena made goodies again. She brought in those giant pretzel sticks dipped in chocolate. I helped myself to one. Very good.

Lunchtime rolled around and I had a cup of broccoli and a cup of the left over baked penne from the other night. You know, the one with carrots and cauliflower hidden it. We are almost out of the cauliflower puree and the hubby sent me an article stating there is a recall on that veggie now. Oh no!!

Got home from work and wasn’t sure what we would do for dinner. After searching the fridge and cabinets we settled on grilled cheese sandwiches. Hubby and I each had TWO!  So that means four slices of bread, four slices of cheese and a tablespoon of butter. It was very good. Nothing redeeming about it except it was the good Dave’s Killer Bread with the perfect balance of fiber and carbs.

While rifling through the cabinets I came across the bag of Hickory Farms mini nonpareil and had a serving of them for my dessert. I included a nice cup of black decaf coffee to wash them down with.

Thirty minutes of Yoga Relax today and am at 125 ounces of water. Not the best day, but not my worst. I had several servings of veggies and that is good.

How did you do?

Went for a drive today..

We went for a drive today. It took us over the passes. There was snow and fog the passes. I tried to snap a decent picture while we were driving. This is the best I could get. Having the snow on the trees made me want to listen to Christmas music. It was a nice drive. Because we were traveling we ate out twice today so my food may look a little questionable. I did make sure to drink plenty of water though.

Had two cups of coffee and creamer at home. Then we headed over to Clark’s Fork for breakfast. I had the “Trapper Wrap” it was filled with egg, potato, sausage gravy, and bacon. I ate half, gave a quarter to the hubby and picked the bacon out of the remains quarter. Had a 12 ounce white mocha too.

On the way back from our destination we stopped in St. Regis for snacks. I had a bottle of water and the hubby found a snack size bag of cheese gouda crackers. We split the bag, they were pretty tasty. You could totally taste the smoky gouda.

We stopped in Coeur d’Alene for a late lunch at our favorite grilled cheese restaurant, Meltz. We decided to split a ‘Gobbler’ This sandwich is amazing! Turkey, stuffing, gravy, sweet potatoes and cranberry aioli. This is my hubby’s favorite sandwich they have and it only comes out during the holidays. I hadn’t had it before. It really is very good. I had a cup of tomato bisque soup with chunks of parmesan in it. Sometimes I actually CRAVE this soup. We also had some of their homemade potato chips.

When I go home I ate three of the Girl Scout almond butter chocolates. Not a lot veggies today that is for sure. Tomorrow will be better. I HAVE to do better the next week. Doctor appointments coming up. Oncologist, DECA and yearly breast exams. Yes, I had mastectomy, no that doesn’t mean I can’t get breast cancer again. Yes, that means I have to still get checked out. Bleh.

I had 160 ounce of water total today.

How did you do?

I wrote it down…..I promise!!

I am a huge advocate of water but also I am becoming a huge advocate for writing it down. I carry this large notebook with me to work and back writing down every thing I eat and drink. It is part of the process of becoming the healthiest version of me. Tracking is a big factor in that. It is about learning what is working for me and what is not working for me. I can look back on my journal and know what I ate and if it made an impact on me.

Anyway I left my notebook at work tonight! I will do my best to reconstruct from memory how my food day played out.

Breakfast (this is easy enough) coffee with almond milk creamer. I don’t know why but I always feel like I am supposed to capitalize almond, weird. I had three cups this morning at home. Then my super foods shake was vanilla today with blueberries and spinach. Yeah I have spinach for my shakes again!

Get to work and have two more cups of coffee with the same creamer in it. I am hungry so I get a granola bar from the vending machine. It is one of those almond sweet and crunchy bars. I am sure they are not that good for you but very simple and satisfying.

Lunch was a spicy tuna roll (large, like two servings) with wasabi and ginger and a little soy sauce. I had a salad with poppyseed dressing too.

Dinner….well I get home tired and annoyed by external factors so I open an Angry Orchard and cook the turkey taco meat up. I make three crunchy tacos with lettuce and cheese. I have another hard cider and TWO more tacos!! Wow! I am such a sucker for tacos!! Hubby informs me he bought cookies so I help myself to two double stuff golden Oreo’s.

I have had 135 ounces of water today. No workout Taco Tuesday came a day late but it was good!!

How did you do?

And basically all the chicken skin….

Happy November, Happy Monday, Happy day to me!

Yes that is a picture of  a baking sheet that has some stuck on chicken bits to it. Yes, I am a horrible cook and worse yet a horrible cleaner upper! The true grit of this picture though is the last little bits of chicken skin that I left behind. Gasp! How did I leave them behind? They were stuck, that is how.

I have a history with fried chicken skin. We go way back. Back to the days when I was working in retail pharmacy as a technician. Osco Drug. Do they still have Osco’s? I am not sure. They are very regional and out where I live now it is not an Osco region. Not a CVS region either, but that is a whole other blog topic.

Anyhoo, once upon a time the company bought KFC for the staff. My friend Bea was at lunch before me. She peeled all the skin off of her chicken to make it ‘healthier’. When she was done she left all the skins on her plate and placed her plate at the top of the trash heap. Well, and this is a TRUE story my friends, I LOVE chicken skin especially when it is deep-fried by the Colonel himself. So I walked over to her plate that I personally saw her discard and proceeded to eat all the skins! YES I DID!! Oh boy, and I wonder why I struggled so much with my weight back in AZ. I struggle now but I am much more aware of what I am doing that makes me struggle so much. (thanks to tracking) What does this have to do with my food tracking for today? Let me break it down for you:

Breakfast was two cups of coffee with Maple flavored almond milk creamer. My super foods shake (vanilla today with mango and spinach)

Get to work and make another cup of coffee with half and half. End up having two cups.

Lunch time was kale and brussels sprout salad with tomatoes, parmesan cheese and lemon vinaigrette. Half of an apple and half a cup of cottage cheese. My friend then share a slice of Papa Murphey’s New York style pizza with me. It was a pepperoni and sausage.

Got home and I am tired and chilled and still have to make lunches for tomorrow and dinner for tonight. So I just open yp a bottle of Angry Orcahrd Rose hard apple cider. Added a splash of Tito’s vodka to it. Yep, I did. I decided to cook up the bacon cheddear hamburger patties for dinner. Put hubby’s of a couple of slices of bread. Figured my carbs were liquid so I didn’t really need any more of them. I finihed of the rest of the kale and brussels sprout salad with the same type of dressing. (I always have to use spell check for the word vinaigrette) Meanwhile I decide to shred up the rotisserie chicken I got from the store and proceeded to eat basically ALL the skin off of it. OH BOY!! What the what?!?!?

To finish off the night I had what I hope to be the last of the Halloween candy. It was the dark chocolate (good for you, right?) Kit Kat snack size bar.

I am however finishing up on 175 ounces of water now and I did do Yoga abs this morning so my whole day was not too bad.

What is one of your weird food addictions?

How did you do today?

Friend Time!!!

Friend time is my favorite! If it wasn’t for my friend Adam today I probably would have never gotten dressed today. Try story. I had grand intentions. Workouts and filming a new video for my YouTube page and fitness group. Some food prep. My usual Sunday things. Then I slept in for the Fall Back an Hour day. Still not used to the changing of time. I was spoiled by living in AZ. Anyway I was going to be a bum all day and sit in my jammies and just Netflix and chill out. At least I got an hour walk in around the park.

So this is how my poor, poor eating habits went this day:

Breakfast was three cups of coffee with creamer. Five yes FIVE waffles. Two of them I put some home-made raspberry jam on them. Then I cooked two eggs over easy and had two more waffles. Then when I finished cooking them started putting them away I noshed on another one!! Had a glass of grapefruit juice to wash it all down with.

Lunch wasn’t really lunch. I knew I was meeting Adam at 3 and wanted to leave early to get coffees for us and try to find the park road we always meet up on. I haven’t been on a walk with Adam for a few years and I wasn’t certain how to get there from my new place. Anyway, I had the rest of the humus and as many pita crackers as it took to eat it all. Got dressed and headed to Starbucks. I ordered the new Toasted White Chocolate Mocha. It was good, had a toasted marshmallow taste to it.

Headed up to the park and walked for about an hour or so. Most of the fall leaves had fallen which was too bad for Adam. He loves to take photos.

Came home and changed back into my jammies. Opened up a Rose Hard Cider and heated up the oven for our stuffed salmon. Don’t get too excited I bought it from the meat deli. It is salmon stuffed with crab. Made red potatoes for the hubby and I had kale salad with parmesan cheese and lemon vinaigrette. Had another hard cider and then one of the Halloween bite size dark chocolate Kit Kat bars that I had hidden in the fridge.

So much for dinner and done! I know it will be better tomorrow. Work brings a bit more structure so it will provide more structure for my food too.

Water wasn’t that great either. I had about 140 ounces today. Well below my average.

Tomorrow is another day.

How did you do?

Productive day today…

I feel like I had a productive day today. I did not work out and didn’t get any studying done for my certification but it was productive none the less. I did meal prep today.

Today I finally made the apple banana muffins for my hubby’s lunch. They are made with almond flour so very low carb and it counts as a serving of fruit and he doesn’t even know! Okay well he will now. (: I also made raspberry jam (no sugar) it is more like a runny jam but I am excited to try it. I made homemade almond milk. I am going to share the super simple recipe tomorrow on my Fitness page so stay tuned. Roasted zucchini, broccoli and a spaghetti squash. Made homemade healthy spaghetti sauce too.  I like days that I feel like I got something healthy for me done. I had good intentions to film some videos for my Cancercize page but I didn’t. Instead I took a nap and watched a movie with my hubby. All wonderful Sunday things.

Water was good today: 150 ounces total. Here is how the food for the day played out:

Breakfast was my vegan chocolate superfoods shake with spinach and blueberries. Two coffee’s with creamer and one espresso with a combination of creamer and half and half.

Lunch was more of the awesome cajun smoked salmon dip with generic Ritz crackers. Had twelve of them. Then I had steak stir fry with carrots, bell pepper, broccoli and carrots all in a teriyaki sauce.  Had half of an apple left over from the muffins.

Had to taste one of the apple banana muffins to make sure I didn’t accidentally poison the hubby.

Dinner tonight was PIZZA!! Yeah after all that food prep I was too tired to actually cook!! So I ordered pizza and salad. Had my usual, sausage and black olive and a garden salad with balsamic dressing.

Outside of no workout and not getting all my things done of my TO DO list I feel pretty darn good about myself and rested.

Oh!! And I plugged in my weight into my tracker app and I am officially 12.8 pounds lighter! I have been using my tracker since Sept 2017 and I am down. I know twelve pounds may not seem like much to you in a years time but to me it feels like one hundred pounds!! It was the boot of confidence I needed to press on and fight the good fight.

How did you do?

Today was better on the scale..

Woke up this morning and was feeling good! Had my water first then hoped on the scale…numbers are down YAY!! This is what sucks about it though…. everyone is right. Eat right, feel better.  Bleh! Ha ha ..honestly though I do have more energy when I eat better. The scale likes it too.

Had a harder time convincing myself that I wasn’t hungry today so I consumed more water to try and fend it off. I did have a few more carbs today than yesterday. Here is how my day of food played out:

Morning: coffee with vanilla almond milk. Two cups

Breakfast: Superfoods vanilla with spinach and blueberries.

Work: two more cups of coffee with half and half.

Lunch: Spinach salad with tiny tomatoes, olive oil and red wine vinegar. Half an apple. Deli sliced ham and one serving of Triscuit Wasabi and Soy Sauce flavored ( enter the extra carbs I mentioned)

Snack: Humus and Carrot Sticks

Dinner: garlic encrusted tilapia, steamed zucchini and sweet potato tots. (rest of the carbs)

Tomorrow I start my 3 Day Reboot. That means very limited caloric intake and no sugars. I do this several times a year. I refuse to give up my coffee (and almond milk) but all in all it is pretty easy to do. I need this to help get me back on track. Especially since I am traveling this weekend and seeing the doctor on Monday….#bleh

Anyway: Water goal was 75 ounces I hit 100 at work alone. Workout today was Yoga.

Goal tomorrow: Yoga, stick to Reboot plan, lots of water.

The bacon cheeseburger wins again….

…..My day started off with a cup of coffee with milk (I am out of almond milk and that makes me sad) make that two cups of coffee with milk. Did my Flow on the Go Yoga workout then had a cup of espresso with get this, the mocha almond milk cold brew…..so that is a ‘double’ in my opinion.  Made my healthy superfoods shake. Today was chocolate, spinach and frozen mixed berries. Same-o same-o..

Got to work had two cups of coffee with half and half. Helped myself to my LAST Little Debbie Swiss roll for a morning snack. Lunchtime rolls around and I have the beef patty with hot sauce on it. IT WAS HOT!!! It was the left over from the taco Wednesday. They make their salsa hot!! Glad I had the carrot and celery sticks to cool my mouth off. Had  some gouda cheese too. A little later on during the work day I broke down and got a coke. Grosses me out now that I am writing about it.

With the dawn of a new age and all the wonderful things we can do online I ordered my dinner online today and had it delivered. Thank you GrubHub…I think!! #notreally

We ordered from the local burger chain called Zips. I got the  pepper jack bacon cheeseburger with mozzarella sticks. THE BEST CHEESE STICKS EVER!!  And that is what my Friday looked like.  My poop may not be good tomorrow from all the cheese. So my body will punish me soon enough!!

Oh well. How did you do today?
