Salmon burgers…….

I didn’t sleep at all last night. Seriously, I didn’t. I have no idea how I was able to make it through work. I was numb in the mind and emotions (until the end of the day when I lost it) I am happy that even though I didn’t sleep I still got up and worked out with a friend. I promised I would and I showed up and that is what matters. I will tell you that I have no idea how in the heck I am still awake right now.!! I should be passed out, I feel very wide awake still. This is how it started last night. Ugh. Hope it is not another toss and turning with my brain not shutting off night..

Anyway here is how the food played out today. I have excuses but I am not going to use them. Here it is:

 

Breakfast was coffee with creamer, one cup. Super foods shake Cafe Latte flavor with spinach, almond butter and blueberries.

Get to work and have two cups of coffee with creamer and three Christmas cookies that a co-worker brought in today. Ugh. Tis’ the season.

Lunch was 1/2 cup of tuna salad with the cauliflower puree and celery. One slice of FFC bread. One cup of kale salad with parmesan cheese and croutons. Also had diluted lemon  dressing. I wanted more food so I bought a bag of Tostitos corn tortilla chips (two servings in one bag) and a cup of Tostitos nacho cheese cup.

Dinner was TWO Angry Orchard Knotty Pear Hard Cider. One cup of frozen green beans, one tablespoonful of garlic aioli and the salmon burger pictured above. The salmon burger has carrot puree in it too.  I was determined to FINALLY make this recipe forgetting that it called for putting the patties in the fridge for one hour first. Yikes! Who has time for that? So I popped them in the freezer and took a shower (I feel better after that) while they set. Hubby and I really enjoyed these! He had his on a bun. I saved one for me to have for lunch tomorrow. I will be making these again and again! So good.

I am only at about 125 ounces of water today. I did do my Yoga Flow on the Go workout this morning and that makes five days in a row. I am excited that I am developing consistency.

Last day of November……

I have no idea where this day went. Seriously I arrived at work at 8 like usual, next thing I know it is 12:30…12:30! Had to leave work for a pizza run for a good-bye party for one of my co-workers. There was snow and rain and running around town. When I get back it was 2:30PM. I walk in the door and am immediately pulled back out again for more meetings. I feel like  I was never even there. Really weird day. And now it is the end of November…so crazy.

 

I woke up this morning and weighed in. It wasn’t bad but it wasn’t good. What I am disappointed about is it is higher than last month. All I could ask myself is ‘Now What’? BUT Oct. started at 147. Nov. started at 143. It is ending at 145. I am not happy with it yet it is still better than when I started in Oct. I have to keep reminding myself of this: I am still working on this and that I still have gains (technically losses).  One day at a time…. here is how my food played out today:

 

Breakfast: Coffee and creamer two cups. Super foods shake today was cafe latte, spinach and banana.

Stopped off for a Starbucks Caramel Creme Brûlée grande size. My excuse for Starbucks today was to get Tyler a goodbye coffee and a gift card. Yeah, I may have a problem…hmm.

Lunch happened about 2:45 PM when I grabbed a slice of pizza from the party and snagged a few bites before hitting the meeting. Came down scarfed it down and went in search to see if there was any left. There was, so I scarfed that one down too.

Finally get home from work and I am not sure what to make for dinner. We settled on breakfast. I made the hubby three scrambled eggs with cheese and two slices of toast. The toast smelled so good. I really wanted some. I talked myself out of it. I am pretty darn proud of that.  I had two scrambled eggs with a bit of cheese and cup of spinach. I added salsa to it and then had a couple of slice of turkey bacon (pictured above). Lots of protein and some veggies. It was very good.

All in all I feel pretty good about today even with the pizza. I made sure to have my next meal be better instead of giving into other craving.

Water was okay today, 150 ounces.

No work out today. Just happy to be home in my warm bed watching  Accidentally on Purpose crying and laughing. I am okay with this.

It’s a Charlie Brown Thanksgiving….

… My husband was worried that he missed the Charlie Brown Thanksgiving special the other day. He kept asking me if we had missed it. He was so happy to find out it was on tonight. I got home after work AND running to the store the night before Thanksgiving (crazy like that) Hubby said that no matter what he was watching Charlie Brown tonight and I was welcome to join him. So I did.

When I was listening to Darren Hardy today for my PD he shared something that stuck with me today: When in doubt choose the harder task. The one you don’t want to do is usually the one you SHOULD do. So much truth to that!!  If I want a trimmer waist line then I MUST do the hard things. Like NOT going to the coffee shop for the special today. Which by the way was hard for me. It is maple spice latte, my favorite and I wanted one so bad……talked myself out of it. I will admit it took a lot of talking but I did talk myself out of it.

Anyway, here is the breakdown of food today:

Breakfast: Coffee with creamer, two cups. Today’s super foods shake was vanilla with spinach, mango almond butter and a splash of turmeric.

Got to work, SKIPPING the coffee shop mind you, and had four cups of coffee with the amazing maple almond milk creamer that I am now officially addicted to.

Long day at my desk waiting for FedEx to call me back, they didn’t so I snacked on some of the Girl Scout sea salted Cashews that I had just bought from one of my staff, you know to support their kid… (sheesh I am a sucker) had 1/2 cup of cashews.

Eventually I went to lunch about 2:30 because my team made me go. I wasn’t really hungry and I wasn’t super excited about my lunch either. I ate some of it; half an apple, 2 cups of spinach with pumpkin seeds and more of that dijon dressing.

After my “quick run” to the grocery store I settled into home for my dinner. Hubby made himself a couple of cheese crisps, I had veggies and an Italian sausage with one cup of the roasted veggies (they are so good still) and Wicked Green Apple cider the whole bottle.

Watched Charlie Brown Thanksgiving with the hubby and am currently cuddled up in a warm bed watching Monk on Amazon Prime. I am very happy in my little world right now.

Water is 150 ounces today. No workout.

Coffee and creamer…

Weighed myself this morning and I was disappointed.  I had started going down on the scale and then just like that I bounce back up. I know that tracking all my food is what is going to help me figure out where I am making my consistent errors at. I know that my MOST consistent thing everyday is my coffee with creamer. I drink almond milk based creamer but it still adds calories. I am not ready to give up my coffee and creamer so this weight loss journey could take a really long time.

Alright, with that said here is my rundown of food today:

Breakfast coffee and creamer three cups. Chocolate vegan super foods shake with spinach and blueberries.

Get to work and have another cup of coffee with creamer. (oh boy, don’t judge)

Lunch was 1/2 of an apple, one boneless chicken thing cooked in olive oil. Salad with mushrooms and pear vinaigrette.

Had a cup of decaf with, used guessed it creamer.

Dinner tonight was meatloaf. I made tureky meatloaf that is laced with veggies (carrots and cauliflower) and half a plate of roasted mixed veggies, that I made yesterday! It is brocoli, onions and different color of bell peppers. Very good. I roasted them in olive oil and a little salt and pepper. I had garlic aioli with the meat loaf. For dessert I had a cup of hot chocolate with milk.

No workout today. I had 135 ouncs of water. Outside of all the creamer I think I did pretty good.

Hurt myself during yoga…..

I think I am the only person I know who has injured themselves during a yoga practice. Once I fell out of a pose and injured my shoulder. Another time I fell out of a pose and injured my hip so bad I couldn’t teach Zumba for a month. Today I think I must have done one of the poses incorrectly and now pulled something in my lower back. It keeps locking up in a painful way..bleh.

Any way this is how my food played out.

Breakfast was coffee with almond milk creamer, two cups. Cafe Latte super foods shake with dark cherries and spinach.

Went to work and brewed a cup of coffee with half and half. Then I needed something stronger so I went to the vending machine and got a bottled Starbucks Mocha frap. I was feeling cold so I brewed a cup of decaf with more half and half.

Lunchtime I had shredded chicken with a Greek vinaigrette and cabbage, broccoli salad with green olives. Half of an apple, pita crackers and humus. It was all very good!

Had an incredibly stupid stress fun day at work. Guess I should call it a day at grade school instead! I don’t understand when it happened but at some point people stopped understanding how to listen and follow directions OR when they are “grown ups” but are acting like they are thirteen and have no common sense of what a work environment should be. Okay I will stop… I was just giving you a back story to explain my dinner.

My dinner was two Angry Orcahrd Easy apples and 3 mini bell peppers.

Yep. That is my “fitness coach” nutrition at it’s best.

I am proud to say that I did at least accomplish “dinner and done”

150 ounces of water today and Yoga practice that tweeked my back.

Productive day today…

I feel like I had a productive day today. I did not work out and didn’t get any studying done for my certification but it was productive none the less. I did meal prep today.

Today I finally made the apple banana muffins for my hubby’s lunch. They are made with almond flour so very low carb and it counts as a serving of fruit and he doesn’t even know! Okay well he will now. (: I also made raspberry jam (no sugar) it is more like a runny jam but I am excited to try it. I made homemade almond milk. I am going to share the super simple recipe tomorrow on my Fitness page so stay tuned. Roasted zucchini, broccoli and a spaghetti squash. Made homemade healthy spaghetti sauce too.  I like days that I feel like I got something healthy for me done. I had good intentions to film some videos for my Cancercize page but I didn’t. Instead I took a nap and watched a movie with my hubby. All wonderful Sunday things.

Water was good today: 150 ounces total. Here is how the food for the day played out:

Breakfast was my vegan chocolate superfoods shake with spinach and blueberries. Two coffee’s with creamer and one espresso with a combination of creamer and half and half.

Lunch was more of the awesome cajun smoked salmon dip with generic Ritz crackers. Had twelve of them. Then I had steak stir fry with carrots, bell pepper, broccoli and carrots all in a teriyaki sauce.  Had half of an apple left over from the muffins.

Had to taste one of the apple banana muffins to make sure I didn’t accidentally poison the hubby.

Dinner tonight was PIZZA!! Yeah after all that food prep I was too tired to actually cook!! So I ordered pizza and salad. Had my usual, sausage and black olive and a garden salad with balsamic dressing.

Outside of no workout and not getting all my things done of my TO DO list I feel pretty darn good about myself and rested.

Oh!! And I plugged in my weight into my tracker app and I am officially 12.8 pounds lighter! I have been using my tracker since Sept 2017 and I am down. I know twelve pounds may not seem like much to you in a years time but to me it feels like one hundred pounds!! It was the boot of confidence I needed to press on and fight the good fight.

Muffins and banana bread…oh my!

Tis the season!! The snacks are already starting to show up in the office. Today it was homemade banana bread with fake butter, then it was mini blueberry muffins that were divine! So soft and light. So lovely I ate three of them! Eek! I emailed my hubby today to tell him we were very busy and it was going to be a very long day and in unrelated news I had consumed three muffins. TOTALLY UNRELATED! *not

This is how my food played out today:

Breakfast: coffee 3 cups today with creamer. Super foods shake vanilla with blueberries and spinach.

Work: Two more cups of coffee with creamer. Banana bread with butter. mini blueberry muffin

Lunch: The other half of my Cubano sandwich from yesterday. kale salad with pumpkin seeds and poppy seed dressing. Two more blueberry muffins

Dinner: one Italian sausage, one bell pepper 1/2 cup marinara sauce

Two pieces of the Halloween candy I bought and stashed. (I sense danger) It was two pieces of sour punch candy. It is equal to one piece of licorice.

Anyway that is how my day played out. Did 150 ounces of watering yoga workout today too!

Coffee and donuts….

Well here it is Friday and I am ready to confess my ‘off the track’ healthy lifestyle diet fails….again. #brokenrecord     I will tell  you now this will be different than all the other posts because it involves the Friday donut.    Here we go…..

Breakfast: half a cup of coffee because the Keurig would only brew A HALF A CUP!!!!! #blerg Vanilla shake with spinach, almond butter and 1/2 cup of blueberries

Decided to day to surprise my work team with donuts so I ran by the grocery store on the way to work to get two dozen donuts. Picked up a twelve pack of Mt. Dew to surprise the hubby with when I got home.  At the store I annoyed a lot of people because it took me forever to pick out the two dozen donuts for the guys. Wanted to get all their favorites.

Since the Keurig disappointed me I stopped by the coffee shop and got the special Maple Spice is still going. Very good.

Work: A cinnamon roll donut thing. I HAD to have one since I brought them, right? Had a meeting at work. Came down, ATE ANOTHER DONUT!!!!WHAT!?!?!?!? Yeah that is two donuts in a one and half hour span! Yikes!!

Then I drank 75 ounces of water in the next two hours to ‘wash out the donuts’

Lunch: Didn’t;t eat. Two many donuts. Too full.

3PM: ate my carrot sticks

Dinner: baked potato with butter and  a large grilled steak! Potato is a veggie, right? Brewed a sweet raspberry tea with Tito’s vodka added to it. Then for dessert I made a decaf coffee with Patron XO Cafe Dark in it with the last of the vanilla almond milk..

and that brings us to now….

Not the best day. But it is what it is and I am being accountable to you.

Here comes all the word vomit. IF I wasn’t doing my 3 day Reboot I would be drinking right about now…

It begins with another repeat of a painful body. Swollen joints, twisted hip, knee and elbow. The pain is quite awful and it will be an ibuprofen and CBD oil kind of night. I think it is the change of weather.  It is making everything inflamed.

A very ‘productive’ morning at work didn’t help either. Mel Robbins said to change your verbiage from ‘busy’ to ‘productive’ gives you more energy and less excuses. I was behind for hours. Had to talk to an employee about an error made and they mouthed back to me. Not a fan of a grown man who can’t own up to a mistake. It happens. Own it. Be done with it.

It may not have affected me so much if I hadn’t just been ‘bothered’ by a truck driver. I have already told my co-workers that I will not wait on him anymore. He says things that make me uncomfortable. When I saw him out on the dock, I kept walking and didn’t make eye contact. (my self-defense mechanism)  He saw me walk by and proceeded to follow me. Kept calling me ‘Miss Renee’. He asked me if I ever get tired of hearing ‘ow’ . I was confused, told him I don’t hear that often when I am walking up and down the dock talking to my team. He again repeated the question; Miss Renee do you ever get tired of hearing ‘ow’? I again had no idea how to respond because I had no idea what he was talking about. He continued to walk beside me and ask the same question. Finally he said “Miss Renee do you ever get tired of hearing ‘ow’? You know because they say ow when their necks snap when you walk out on the dock?” I was dumbfounded! I tried to say that is inappropriate or unprofessional but all I could get out was sheepish stammering. I was very uncomfortable. He left, only to come back and say ‘Miss Renee, sorry if I was being a poop’ and he left.

In that moment, that very moment I lost it. Despite being ‘productive’ and in pain and super gassy from all the extra fiber I have been eating/drinking but now I feel ashamed. Ashamed that I couldn’t stand up for myself when it mattered. Ashamed and disappointed in myself for not speaking up and telling him that it WAS inappropriate. That he was a poop..in fact a shit for talking to me like that. That is not OKAY to talk like that to someone you don’t even know. Embarrassed that I just couldn’t get the words out.

Other than that, this is how my food played out today:

Coffee with vanilla almond milk (two of them) Chocolate shake with dark cherries.

Work: two cups of plain black coffee. Fiber Sweep.

Lunch: protein shake, super greens salad with golden beets and tomatoes with oil and vinegar for dressing. Half an apple

Snack…like at 6PM tonight: humus and celery.

Dinner: Protein shake with a handful of spinach in it. I was tired and did not want to make my dinner of veggies tonight.

Funny story.. Last night the hubby came into the bedroom and made a face and asked ‘what is that you got going on in here?’ I told him farting, lots of farting… He said “Yep!” and turned around to go sleep downstairs for the night!! Thank you 3 day reboot for that giggle.

 

Still gassey tonight but I am actually hurting too much to even care at this point in my night.

Friday HAS to be better!! It has to!

Always a down hill…

I left my lunch at work yesterday. I left it there on purpose. It still had the  tuna with veggies in it and my almonds and fresh raspberries. I brought a bag of fresh spinach to go with it today. #goodintentions

Had my superfoods shake. Today was chocolate, dark cherries and spinach. It always fills me up until lunch…..well that and three cups of espresso!!

My lunch time rolled around and I was so busy I didn’t go.  An hour went by and I still didn’t go. So now the downhill begins. My freind from work went to Mc’Donald’s and I talked him into getting me a double cheeseburger meal with a coke.   Ate the burger a few of the fries and inhaled the coke! #rollingdownthehill

Dinner time is pizza from Dinardi’s #love Pizza and salad and Lemon Basil Hard Cider…. man once I start down that hill I never stop rolling.

One more day done and tomorrow is a new start.

Marching back up that hill.
