Pizza crusts counts…

Woke up this morning a bit depressed. Still processing information from yesterday that has me doubting everything. I feel uneasy about things. Not sure what is going to happen always leaves me uneasy and when I am uneasy about things it leads to depression. When I am feeling the depression coming on I feed it food. Lot’s of food, mostly carbs and very little veggies.

Here is how my day played out (food wise)

Woke up had coffee and creamer, two cups. Also had a cup of hot cocoa.  Made breakfast for hubby and I. Six slices of turkey bacon (hubby didn’t want to eat his so I had to help him out) two slices of toast with spreadable butter, two scrambled eggs with cheese. The eggs were cooked in olive oil.

Lunch was the rest of the salad from last night with the balsamic dressing. Had a slice of pizza. The hubby had two slices then gave me his crusts. He is very giving that hubby of mine. I have to count the pizza crusts I eat too, right?

Met up with a friend today around 2PM at a coffee shop. Had a 20 ounce double shot dirty chai latte.

Dinner tonight was one of those roasted chickens from the store. I ate ALL the crispy skin while I was making dinner. I made chicken fettuccine alfredo. I used large egg noodles instead of fettuccine noodles. The sauce was made with milk, mozzarella and parmesan cheese. The secret ingredient was cauliflower. So I guess I did have two servings today after all.

Water is at 125 ounces.

Did expansion core yoga today. Makes me feel a little better.

I have set a goal…

I weighed in today and it was better than the last few days. I have a goal for the end of December. It is to be 141.1 pounds. Why the .1? well it means if I only get to 141.8 it will be closer or some other weird logic like that. It just looks better on paper that way. More realistic I guess.

I tried to keep a tally today on my servings of veggies. The trouble with that is two of my foods today had veggies hidden in them but I am not 100% sure if it counts as a “serving”.

Any way here is the rundown of food today:

Breakfast: Coffee and maple flavored almond milk creamer, two servings. Super foods shake cafe latte with blueberries and spinach. Added almond butter and turmeric this time too.

Get to work and have a  decaf coffee with the same creamer as above. Then I ended up brewing two more cups by noon.

Lunch: tuna salad (made with cauliflower puree and chunks of celery) One slice of Daves Killer bread (totally fits into the FFC department, fiber filled carb) cucumber slices. I had more tuna than bread so I went to the vending machine and bought a serving of whole grain Cheez-its. It also fit the FFC guidelines. 130 calories, 19 grams of carbs, 2 grams of fiber. Tasted great and I really enjoyed eating them.

Dinner was an Angry Orchard Knotty Pear Cider, the leftover burger patty from last night (it has carrot puree in it) two slices of cheddar cheese and half of a bell pepper. Hubby also made me try the new flavor of Poppable chips he had bought. I had two of them, white cheddar flavor. They were pretty good but I liked the original ones better.

If you were keeping tally of my veggies today I counted them as four; Spinach, Cucumbers, bell pepper and then for each serving of protein that had veggies hidden in them I counted as one more serving. I think that is fair, right?

I have 125 ounces of water in me so far and am half way through another 25 ounces.

I did my workout this morning: Yoga Flow. I really enjoyed it. Looking forward to the Flow on the Go tomorrow with friends.

Do you have an end of the year goal you are trying to reach? How close are you? How did you do with your tracking today?

Veggie free..

So pretty much this has been a veggie free weekend! Not by choice, well I guess by choice. I just wasn’t choosing what I should have been.

My hubby has decided that he wants to be on the Renee train and is all in for joining me in the journey for health and fitness. He absolutely  detests veggies. Years ago he found out that Jerry Seinfeld’s wife Jessica had written a cookbook for foods kids like that all have veggies hidden in them. He wanted me to cook from it for him but not tell him what I used in it. We decided that to get him into liking veggies we would start off slow and go back to cooking from that book. What was really exciting to me was he spent the whole day prepping, chopping, steaming and measuring out the veggie purees to pop in the freezer for our meals!! This is a HIUGE deal to me. He must really love me. It was a wonderful day of us just working together in the kitchen. Chatting and laughing and catching up on our week at work and planning out our budget for the year to come. It was wonderful. Funny side note: we were prepping veggies all morning that when lunch time rolled around we ordered take out, pizza.

Butternut squash (from my garden) spaghetti squash, cauliflower, carrots, sweet potatoes. That is what we pureed today. I made a turkey meatloaf using the carrots and cauliflower for dinner this week.

This is how my food played out:

Breakfast was three cups of coffee with creamer. One cup of hot chocolate. I made poached eggs for the first time ever and served them over a piece of toast with pancetta. Yum!

Lunch was two slices of ‘white pizza’ it is ricotta and mozzarella. I had sausage and mushrooms on mine.

Dinner for me was a vegan chocolate superfoods shake with 1 cup of fresh spinach. I had to sneak a serving of veggies in there somewhere!

All in all I had a lovely day! Enjoyed my hubby’s company while prepping for our health and dinners for the week. I am  tired and need to shower but I am very happy.

145 ounces of water today.

Lasagna saved the day…..

….seriously it saved the day!! Okay maybe it just saved my lunch. Did I tell you that I chose to sleep in today? Of course I didn’t I haven’t been on here yet. #duh  Sometimes when I write I write like I talk: all over the place and half of it inside jokes in my own head. Oh well. I have like seven followers who actually read this and they all know me, so I am sure they read it like they are listening to me. (:

I did wake up late. Not really late I just didn’t want to get out of bed. I kept yelling at Siri across the room demanding she turn off my alarm for me. She wouldn’t. Then when I finally dragged my cold feet out of the bed to hit snooze the screen wouldn’t let me. So I brought the phone to my bedside and just kept restarting the ten minute timer. #somedayIwillgraspthefivesecondrule

I drank a bit last night so my weigh in this morning wasn’t so great, I don’t having another tonight. Which brings me  to my point. Time to log in my food and be transparent to the world…hahahahaha the seven people I mean. 😉

Here is how it played out today:

COFFEE!! two cups at home with creamer. Cafe Latte super foods shake with turmeric, spinach and mango.

On the way to work I stopped by the local coffee shop and had a 16 ounce mocha maple spice. Drank about half of it and then filled it back up with coffee and added some half and half to it. Still just as good.

I brought spinach salad with cucumbers and tomatoes with some Italian dressing and one Italian sausage. My friend gave me some of her left over lasagna that  her hubby (a professional chef) made. It had sausage, mushrooms and onions! So good! Totally hit the spot and filled me up.

Decided that for dinner we would have breakfast. Was going to swing by the store and get some orange juice for the hubby and I. Both are struggling with whatever form of the cold going around. I have a bit of a scratchy throat. Got to the store and it was packed and I am just too tired and sore to fight with crowds tonight. Came home and cooked up the turkey breakfast sausage patties. Made toast and scrambled cheddar eggs for the hubby. My dinner was scrambled eggs with cheese, mini bell peppers and broccoli. I ate six of the sausage patties. They are small and I am hungry. I also drank the last bottle of the Angry Orchard Knotty Pear. They need to make all their hard cider as hard. Not a fan of pear but am a fan of the higher percentage of alcohol. PS alcohol burns off the germs (my story and I am sticking to it)

I did not work out this morning. I didn’t shower either and I am sure people could smell it. I did have 170 ounces of water though, so there is that.

Shield yourself from everyone else’s agenda…

That was from my personal development today. Shield yourself from everyone else’s agenda. Meaning make sure to take care of you and not react to others or what might happen during the day. Be prepared to deal with them all with grace and peace…..ha!

That is NOT what happened to me today. I had an accusatory email followed by a doubtful email that makes me take every thing very personal. I become very protective of my team, Bleh.  SO how do I cope? I eat. I eat it all and then some. …. here is how that played out today:

Breakfast: coffee with almond milk and a splash of sf vanilla syrup. Espresso with creamer and almond milk. Vegan caffe latte super foods shake with blueberries and spinach.

Got to work and stopped by for a Red Velvet hot 16 ounce latte. Regular boring Keurig coffee with 1/2 and 1/2.

Lunch: A slice of pizza and salad (pictured above) with balsamic dressing. A bag of salsa flavored Sun Chips and a Snickers bar. #doublebleh

Snack: six mini bell peppers

Dinner: #herecomesallthebleh Ritz Pita chips 34 of them the rest of the salmon dip. Half of the pita chips went into the microwave to have cheese melted upon them. Cracked open a bottle of Angry Orchard Knotty Pear.

See I started off with good intentions to shield myself… then I let my emotions and circumstances dictate how I respond. That is not a shield. It is a coping mechanism. #quadruplebleh

Water was good. 185 ounces and Yoga Flow this morning. SO there is that.

Acid Reflux for the win…..

I didn’t sleep well last night. I had acid reflux the first couple of hours when I went to bed, (too much to eat after my 3 day reboot) then the painful aches started up again with a vengeance.  When we soaked in the hot springs for hours it felt so good. When I went to bed it did not. I don’t know why the hot springs made all the pain activate again.  When I went in for my massage and Clay Foot Detox session the therapist implied that my body was probably clenching on to tight to my joints trying to protect themselves from the relaxation. She made it sound better and it made sense the way she described it.

Anyway it was the best message I have in a very long time!!! I actually jogged along the road a little to take a picture of Coffee Creek (I had too) I feel good! So thankful for Sage at Ainsworth Hot Springs.

Today I was planning on getting back to my healthy track and do some yoga, have my shake for dinner and a nice big salad……this is how my day play out instead..

Breakfast: coffee and creamer….lots of coffee and creamer. Two eggs over easy with bacon, fresh fruit, and sour dough toast.

Stopped at Oso Negro in Nelson BC for a double mocha and a small bite of the hubby’s chocolate cake.

Lunch: Half a bag of pig skins.

Late lunch: a slice of hubby’s left over scicillian pizza, a cup of vanilla latte decals and a whole bag of red licorice.

Tomorrow I see the doctor and I am sure I will be told that my weight is too high and so will my cholesterol.. Oh well. I really enjoyed my self and feel wonderful today.
